UBBC Ltd is a Company registered at Companies House in the UK (registration no: 12812165). The Company is also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK and is compliant with the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process a range of personal information, such as personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details such as email addresses, customers’ financial information, employee data and website user statistics). How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

·      Signing up to participate in events

·      Participating in Working Groups or Meetings

·      Promoting your organisation through our website or social media channels

·      Seeking advice or support from the Business Council

We use the information that you have given us in order to support you in enhancing the trade and investment relationship between the UK and the UAE.

We may share this information with relevant organisations, but only with your prior consent and only in compliance with GDPR and other data privacy regulations that we adhere to.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored electronically on a cloud-based MS Exchange server, accessible only by the employees of the UAE-UK Business Council.

We keep this information for ten years. We will then dispose your information using confidential electronic waste management software.

The Security of your Personal Information

Your privacy is important to us and we will keep Your Personal Data secure in accordance with our legal responsibilities. We will take reasonable steps to safeguard your Personal Data against it being accessed unlawfully or maliciously by a third party. We also limit access to your personal data to only those who have a legitimate business need to know. We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

Our website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit.

Your rights regarding your personal information

You have the right to access your personal information to check whether it is accurate and up-to-date, you also have the right to receive a copy of the personal information that we process for you.

You have the right to withdraw your consent for us to retain your personal information, however, this information can only be removed should the statutory timescales for retaining the information have lapsed.

You also have the right to object to us processing your personal information under our legitimate interest, and you have the right to request we restrict the processing of your personal information under certain circumstances.

You can also ask us to transfer your personal information to you or to a third party.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
