UK–UAE Strategic Infrastructure Partnerships at London Climate Action Week

On 23 June 2026, the UAE-UK Business Council partnered with Masdar to convene a high-level roundtable discussion on UK–UAE Strategic Infrastructure Partnerships in London.

Guest speakers included HE Abdulla Ahmed Al Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and HRH Princess Beatrice. The roundtable explored UK-UAE co-investment opportunities in transmission, storage, interconnectors, and offshore wind enabling infrastructure.

Opening the discussion, H.E Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the UK, said that “Masdar’s many projects in the UK highlight a commitment to investing in jobs, sustainability and opportunities in energy cooperation, leading to a stronger partnership between the UK and UAE”.

H.E Abdulla Ahmed Balalaa emphasised that UK-UAE cooperation requires “planning, partnerships, communication, stability of regulations and guarantees and risk-sharing between both countries”.

The UK and UAE are deepening their partnerships across energy, infrastructure, and clean technology, pairing the UK's large-scale infrastructure investment pipeline driven by decarbonisation and energy security goals with the UAE’s global project experience, accessible capital and growing delivery capabilities.

The UAE-UK Business Council will conduct a consultation of its members and stakeholders on the next phase of its campaign on Energy Transition in July.
