UAE Health Inclusivity Index Launch

10 July 2025, Abu Dhabi

The Health Inclusivity Index, developed by Economist Impact and supported by Haleon, one of our member companies, is a ground breaking tool that highlights the economic and social benefits of making healthcare accessible to all. This research demonstrates that removing barriers, whether personal, social, cultural, or political, can significantly boost economic performance and improve public health outcomes.

Haleon’s partnership with Economist Impact underscores a shared commitment to advancing inclusive health globally. The Index’s latest findings show that improving access for underserved groups, as those with low health literacy, low incomes, women, and people over 50, could save hundreds of billions of dollars annually. For example, reducing low health literacy by 25% could save $300 billion each year, while halving anaemia in women could save $48 billion. By providing actionable recommendations and country-level insights, the Index empowers governments and stakeholders to make informed decisions that unlock both health and economic value at scale.

To launch the Index and its UAE-specific results, Haleon is organising a high-level panel in the UAE titled "From Awareness to Action: Building Healthier Communities Through Self-Care and Literacy." This invitation-only event aims to bring together experts and leaders to discuss practical steps for advancing health inclusivity, with a special focus on self-care and improving health literacy within the UAE context.

The UAE-UK Business Council will build on these findings through its own Wellbeing and Longevity campaign, which it will launch later this year.
