Middle East Association (MEA)

The Middle East Association is a UK-based organisation, founded in 1961, dedicated to strengthening political, commercial and cultural ties between the United Kingdom and the Middle East & North Africa.

Led by Director General Nicholas Hopton (former UK Ambassador to Qatar, Libya, Iran and Yemen), the MEA convenes senior decision-makers from government, business, academia and the media through high-level events, private round-tables and strategic networking. Its flagship calendar includes a Parliamentary Reception, Ambassadors’ Reception, Gala Dinner and Annual Lecture.
